While Brian has extensive academic qualifications and wide experience in planning, his training philosophy, gained from working with people in many countries, is that training should include a mix of theory relevant in applying new ideas, concepts and tools for the workplace, practical and an interesting and memorable experience for participants. This philosophy will be applied to the delivery of the course on the Economics of Development for Planners.
Ken facilitates the Effective Communication, Negotiation and Mediation unit in the Planning Practice Course.
Ken's diverse employment and academic background as a learner and Lecturer, combined with the broad range of client organisation development projects he has worked on, in a wide array of industry sectors in Australia and overseas, equip him well for his role. He has worked with the Aviation Industry, Brewing and Beverage, Local, State and Federal Government Departments, Energy, Building, Banking and Finance, manufacturing and others. He is focused on the solid business basics and is full of stories and anecdotes which make the concepts interesting and meaningful in human and business terms.
Invariably, each of his clients have gained a change advantage from the association they have formed with him: these advantages have sometimes been measurable in customer base increases, reductions in baseline costs, improvement in performance quality, or sometimes simply an improved understanding of people's role in a successful and sustainable business.
