Student Resources

[+]Study Guide

Your Study Guide is your main resource. It comprises:

  • comprehensive topic information
  • topical readings and case studies
  • activities and suggested answers
  • assesments comprising your assignment and a sample exam.

You'll receive a recommended study schedule for each unit so you can use it to plan your study, but remember that the time required to complete tasks will depend on your knowledge, experience and commitment.

[+]Support

Unit Chair

Each unit has a Study Guide that you work through with guidance from a Unit Chair. Your Unit Chair is an industry expert from Chifley's Faculty and they are responsible for setting and marking your assignment and exam, providing commentary on topics in the Study Guide and academic assistance for any of your questions.

Student Support Services

Chifley provides all the administrative support you need—responding to your enquiry within 24 hours. As a student, you will be provided with contact information should you have any administrative enquiries.

[+]Library Services

University libraries

Library resources and services are available at most Australian universities for a fee. You can access both print and electronic resources including databases, books, journals and multimedia items.

You can also use the Inter-Library Lending and Document Delivery Service (ILDDS) which provides mail service access to material held at other Australian libraries (either loans or photocopies). In addition, library staff can assist in arrangements for students to borrow in person from other Australian academic libraries. Loan of items is only available to students located in Australia.

Contact a university library near you and ask them about library membership. To search for an appropriate university library, visit the Australian libraries gateway website at:
www.nla.gov.au/apps/libraries.

Public libraries

Any person with a Public Library Membership Card can make a request to borrow items from other libraries. Reservation and/or Inter-Library loan charges may apply. Please be aware that the lending conditions are set by the supplying library.

[+]Textbooks

Most Units have one required textbook you must have in order to study. As your Study Guide refers you to read specific pages in the textbook, it is very important that you obtain the correct edition of the textbook.

You'll need to obtain a textbook for most units in the program. Your Study Guide will direct you to read particular pages in the textbook, so it's important you obtain the textbook edition that's specified on your study materials and on the RMIT Bookshop website .

Purchasing your textbooks from RMIT Bookshop will ensure you buy the correct version and edition. We recommend you order your textbook well before the start of the study period so you receive it on time.
