[+] How many units can I undertake in each study period?

Chifley allows students you undertake up to 4 units in study period 1 and 2, and up to 2 units in study period 3

[+] How many units should I undertake in each study period?

Depends on time and other commitments but a majority of our students choose to undertake one unit per study period.

[+] Is it compulsory to enrol in a study period?

No, the program’s flexibility means enrolment in a study period is optional

[+] How many hours do I need to study per week?

Each unit is designed for 160 hours of study, meaning approximately 8 hours per unit per week in study periods 1 & 2; and 16 hours per unit per week in study period 3. This will vary depending on preferred study habits and outside time commitments.

[+] Is there a deadline to complete an Award?

Yes, the following completion deadlines apply.


Graduate Certificate 3 years from first unit
Graduate Diploma 6 years from first unit
Masters 10 years from first unit

[+] What is the average completion time for the Chifley MBA?

The average duration to complete the Chifley MBA is 4-5 years however many students graduate within 2.5 years from commencement.

[+] Can I exit with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma and decide later to continue towards a higher award?

Yes, provided you have completed the core units and it’s within the timeframe allowed

[+] Can I obtain credit for previous postgraduate study?

Yes, Chifley allows credit for up to 50% of course requirements for previous postgraduate study.

Yes, students may obtain credit for our Employer-based unit for previous and relevant workplace training.
Chifley also provides one unit of credit for students who have completed a Diploma of Management or Diploma of Project Management. (*excludes special entry students)

Most units comprise one assignment, one exam and online participation. This may vary from unit to unit.

The exam is face-to-face, closed book and the duration is 2-3 hours. Chifley has exam venues throughout Australia and the world.
