Arthur Alexander

MBA, Dip.Teaching, BHMSc, Cert.IV.AWT

Arthur has a comprehensive knowledge and experience in organisational change and development across many different types of organisations has earned him contracts with BHP Coal, Suncorp Metway, Ampol Caltex, Queensland Health and Australian Bureau of Statistics. Arthur has a wealth of experience at executive and senior management levels.

Today, he is Managing Director, Organisational Consultant for ITAS Consultancy. He previously held positions as Manager, Human Resources and Development for Roche Process Engineering; Group Manager, Organisational Development at Roche Mining; Managing Director of Heart Beat Centre and was a teacher with the Department of Education (QLD).

Arthur is also an accredited workshop presenter for the Myers-Briggs Type Personality Indicator.

Neville has a wealth of experience in various teaching and consulting roles within the university and commercial environment. He is currently a business education and management consultant. Ray Anderson

BEc, Dip Ed, MCom, Fellow of Chifley Business School

Ray is a consultant with FCG Legal Pty.Ltd, Solicitors, in the area of immigration law and practice. His previous position was Foundation Professor in Accounting and Finance at Victoria University, Melbourne. He has authored several books and monographs and he has published numerous articles in academic and professional journals, both domestically and internationally.

Ray has acted as a doctoral examiner and has also acted as an editorial board member for accounting journals. His current research is focused on biographies of eminent Australian accountants and international finance issues.

Tim Baker

BCom, DipHRM, MMgt, Master Mariner, FAICD

Tim Baker has his own consulting company. He advises organisations on developing and implementing corporate strategy, with an emphasis on gaining a competitive advantage through superior customer service. Tim designs and implements customer and employer perception surveys to help identify core strategic issues and mentors CEOs of small to medium-sized enterprises. Tim's experience includes positions as Chief Executive in technology-based organisations, including Moore Business Systems and OCE Australia Limited, and General Management positions in Rank Xerox Australia and International Computers Limited.

In these roles, he has gained many years’ experience in defining, developing and implementing strategic visions and missions with a focus on superior service delivery.

Graeme Ballard

BRTP, MPIA, CPP

Graeme facilitates the Legislation & Governance unit in the Planning Practice Course.

Graeme Ballard is a self-employed consultant with specialised skills, experience and knowledge of planning, and planning and development assessment systems based on almost 30 years professional experience. He has held senior management positions in both state and local government and has extensive experience in both local and state governments as well as in the private sector.

Graeme's state government experience has included positions in both Queensland and Western Australia. Graeme's local government experience has included employment with the Brisbane City Council and the Launceston City Council in Tasmania. He also was involved in providing consultancy services to a range of private clients with interests in residential, commercial and tourism development.

Graeme re-entered the private sector in March 2006 when he established his own planning consultancy business.

Geoff Barton

BEng(Elec & Mech), MBA, Fellow of Chifley Business School

Over a nearly thirty-year career, Geoff has had extensive experience in the management of high-risk projects in the defence, IT, financial and telecommunications industries. Working in government and corporate sectors, Geoff has first-hand experience of the challenges involved in contract acquisition, program and project management and managing operation and organisational change. Projects he has managed have ranged from missiles and remotely piloted vehicles, through to industrial controls and software development, to setting up companies.

Geoff is currently Managing Director of a small project management company located in Melbourne, Australia.

I want my students to understand the range of concepts, techniques, ideas and tools that will prove useful in their careers. I want to enthuse them to use this as the basis for their on-going skill development.

David Burns

David has developed his business and human resource development knowledge and skills over the past twenty years dealing with all levels of management. During his career, he has initiated and maintained a unique ability to develop individuals, while achieving organisational objectives. His exposure to diverse client groups and vocational and tertiary education provides the necessary underpinning knowledge to customise, adapt and recommend proven strategies focused on continuous improvement.

David has facilitated and coached Frontline Management programs for many CBS clients including Energex, Department of Planning and Infrastructure (WA), Bureau of Meteorology and Sydney Water. He was the founder and principal of a successful business college and was responsible for the launch of a legal firm’s professional development program. Having worked for many years in the banking sector, David has an excellent frame of reference together with formal qualifications for the financial industry. He researched, developed and coordinated several national franchise development strategies. The diversity of David’s talents includes being the senior consultant on a number of industry advisory boards for both private and corporate identities.

David believes that studies undertaken by an individual must be relevant and specific whereby personal and organisational objectives can be achieved. He is also a member of and presenter for the International Society for Performance Improvement (USA), whose solutions are widely, adopted internationally within human resource development fields. David's dynamic and personal approach to learning and development has made him a most respected individual within the human resources development arena.

Rob Caroline

Rob has worked in the aviation industry for 25 years before establishing own consultancy in 2006. He has held a number of management roles involving operational, business, training and development and project implementation responsibilities. In providing consultancy and facilitation services Rob is able to draw on extensive experience derived from a dynamic business environment, both domestically and internationally. Rob is an engaging and dynamic facilitator with excellent interpersonal skills, who is has a reputation for delivering results.

Rob has lead the management of an operational training unit with a $10million budget and a staff of 110 people. He has also developed and written two day short courses for managers in Business Risk and Strategic Thinking. He has also been the author of the Risk Management module of Chifley Business School’s Certificate IV of Frontline Management and the Diploma of Management. These courses are a part of the new BSB07 Business Skills Package.

Stephen Foden

Steve is a commercially focused program/project director with an extensive track record within the banking, defence, telecommunications, government and gaming industries.

He has undertaken projects that include strategic procurements, IT infrastructure implementations, software application developments, technology developments, marketing campaigns and organisational transformations for companies in the US, Europe and Asia.  Steve has also undertaken several performance reviews and recoveries of troubled projects.

Holding PMP credentials with the PMI, Steve is also PRINCE2 certified.

Joseph Griffin, DR

Ed.D; M. Ed; BSc (Hons), Dip of Trn. and Ass. Systems

Joe Griffin has 30 years experience in education and organisational development. His consulting company, CGM International, specialises in organisational development, leadership and risk management. Since its establishment, Joe has undertaken reviews for numerous private and government organisations, and over the last twenty years he has designed and conducted executive development programs in both public and private organisations in Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Joe currently lectures through Victoria University for their Public Sector Management Program and lectures in New Venture Leadership for the Swinburne University Masters Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has also developed Human Resources Policies, that include performance management and professional development needs, and he has established a professional coaching service for executives.

Andrew Hammonds

Andrew facilitates the Urban Design unit in the Planning Practice Course.

Andrew's qualifications, combined with experience in the successful delivery of national and international projects, place him at the leading edge of urban planning. He is a leading advocate for urban design, as the Chairperson of Australian Institute of Urban Studies (QLD) and a founding member of the Urban Design Alliance (QLD).

He encourages excellence in these fields through teaching and research as Adjunct Professor (Planning) at QUT and has been invited to present papers at several national and international conferences. In 2001, Andrew was awarded the AV Jennings Churchill Fellowship for international research into sustainable development. His reputation as an urban designer is reinforced by a Master of Urban Design and his unique experience in government and as an Equity Principal of HASSELL and Principal of AKH Consulting.

Sarah Ivory

B.Com (Hons), MBA

Sarah is a research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh Business School where she is coordinates and lectures in a range of post-graduate management programs. Sarah's areas of teaching and research include the impacts of climate change-related issues on business strategy, decision-making and planning and tools for carbon management including carbon benchmarking and footprinting.

Prior to taking up an academic position, Sarah co-founded a successful biotechnology services company with facilities in Singapore and Indonesia. She is currently working on a UK-based project working with companies and stakeholders to measure and compare carbon performance within business sectors.

Sarah wrote Unit 416 Corporate Sustainability Study Guide.

Tor Hansen

Tor Hansen is an experienced writer, researcher and corporate trainer. Tor has worked for Melbourne, Monash and La Trobe Universities to produce, lecture and assess many different undergraduate courses.

Tor is Director of TechKnowledgey Pty Ltd, a consultancy specialising in the provision of corporate training, communications and management consulting services. As a technical writer, Tor believes in producing documents that focus on the target audience, and on achieving outcomes.

Patrick Hoiberg

Cert.IV.AWT

After completing his tertiary studies at the then Queensland Institute of Technology (now the Queensland University of Technology) in 1970, Patrick commenced work with Price Waterhouse in Brisbane.

In 1974 he was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. In 1978 he was appointed Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy and in 1980 he was awarded a Master of Commerce by the University of Queensland, one of five people in the history of the University to be awarded this honour which is a research based Masters.

In 1985 he left the academic life to commence practice. Patrick's practice is broadly based with business services, auditing and financial training. He is a prominent trainer in Queensland in financially based topics on behalf of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Queensland Master Builders Association, Australian Institute of Management and other bodies.

Patrick's involvement with the Institute started in 1977 when he was appointed to the then Professional Development Committee in Queensland. He has been a State Chairman in Queensland and has chaired the National CPE Committee for a number of years. In his role as an Executive Committee Member, he has served on the Education, Membership, Careers Marketing, CPE and Quality Control Committees.

Patrick was a Quality Control Reviewer on behalf of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and conducts the Public Practice Program for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Queensland. Patrick is a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has been conducting Business Management Courses on behalf of the Queensland Master Builders Association since April 1996. He is a member of the Board of BIGA Pty Ltd (a group apprenticeship training scheme in the building industry).

Mark Johnson

With over 22 years experience in HR Management and Organisational Development, Mark has worked with all levels of management from frontline/new supervisors to middle management and executive leaders. His personal style and skills have allowed him to achieve success in a broad cross section of industries including Finance & Insurance, Aerospace, Energy, Agribusiness and Construction Supply as well as Federal, State and Local Government.

In more recent years Mark's work has focused on organisational development, change management and coaching leaders in highly competitive and demanding environments. Mark has worked with and consulted to some of Australia's premier organisations including Suncorp, Wesfarmers Ltd and Price Waterhouse Coopers.

John Moynihan

John has held a number of senior roles within the corporate sector, predominantly with a people-oriented training and development focus. This enabled him to delve into course development and facilitation focusing primarily in Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. Drawing heavily on his extensive practical experiences and specialities in bringing practical solutions through theoretical application, he has developed a number of business-related courses, some of which are nationally accredited.

Annie Kentwell

Annie facilitates the Professional Ethics unit in the Planning Practice Course.

Annie has been employed with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) for just over two years in the role as the ACT Division Manager and as the National Climate Change Adaptation Coordinator.

Prior to coming to PIA, Annie has had a diversified working life both within the Australian Government for 25 years and within private industry. She has worked extensively throughout urban, rural and remote areas in Australia in regards to community development, indigenous education, social research, staff development and training, and policy and program service delivery.

Recently, Annie was also engaged with the Swinburne University to facilitate 'Ethics and Fraud Awareness' training with the Federal Department of Treasury in Canberra.

Annie is a planner and holds formal qualifications in Regional and Urban Planning, Social Science, Social Ecology, and Vocational Education and Training.

Martin Kunst

MBA, BBus & Economics

Martin is presently studying his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Southern Cross University. A native of Germany, he has held various positions in marketing, consulting and accounting in some of Germany's largest corporations. He was also the Chief Financial Officer of a student-run stock association during his time at university and was a student employee at Haldex Brakesystems. As well as German and English, he speaks French and Spanish.

John Legge

BS, MBus, Fellow of Chifley Business School

John Legge started tertiary level teaching after 28 years’ experience in technology-oriented business, including four years as a corporate business strategist for a multinational computer firm. His business career included extensive periods in the UK and Australia, and involved technical and marketing assignments in 9 other countries. Since 1988 John has concentrated on consulting, research, writing and teaching.

Nine of his books have been published, and he has completed a number of significant research papers. John was Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University between 1991 and 1996 and taught at RMIT Graduate School of Engineering in 1997 and in the Graduate School of Management, La Trobe University, from 1999 to 2002.

He is currently a Senior Teaching Fellow, Ballarat University and a Teaching Fellow, Swinburne University of Technology where he convenes the subject ‘Growth Venture Evaluation’ in the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship. He is the principal consultant in his family consulting business.

I challenge my students to expand their capabilities as well as their learning—to gain confidence in their abilities to address and overcome the real business problems that they will meet as their careers develop.

John Leijon

John is Managing Director of boutique project management consultancy Manatec IC. His specialty is providing project management training and individual coaching in live project environments. He also provides consulting assistance to organisations defining or re-defining project methodologies so as to ensure strategic alignment of their projects.

As a consultant, John has designed and delivered in-company project management programs for numerous clients over the past decade. He has also been responsible for the delivery of numerous public short courses in project management conducted across Australia. These programs are attended by in excess of 500 managers annually from a diverse mix of public and private sector organisations.

John’s experience spans both medium and large scale project environments – he was the external (General Motors accredited) trainer with Holden, in Australia for their Vehicle Development project methodology.

Zoe Long

Zoe facilitates the Project Management unit in the Planning Practice Course.

Zoe provides a suite of Project Management services within corporate, government and training organisations with a key focus on effective change and long-term staff skill development. She is a specialist in providing advice on strategies for organisational improvement and change management to create solutions and run major project initiatives.

She focuses on customization and/or development of project management documentation and courseware for both corporate and training organizations, undertaking Training Needs Analysis for the purpose of skill gap, career development and succession planning and offers general consultancy and management services.

Zoe's background is in aviation and finance, in both Human Resources management and project work, managing across multi-site operations and refining communication, change and planning strategies. She is an effective coach and has solid grounding in quality assurance, SAP environments and audit needs. Zoe has held positions as an industry judge for the Brisbane Training Awards, and as a member of the Quality Steering Committee for the Southbank Institute of TAFE ISO9001.

Tim Lyons

BBus (Marketing), M.Bus (Banking & Finance)

Tim has worked internationally as a lecturer in postgraduate management programs in France, China, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong. He was Assistant Professor in Marketing at IESEG Business School, (Lille, France) and is now Assistant Professor at ISEG Business School (Paris, France). Tim has also lectured in marketing and international business courses throughout Australia—at Monash University, Latrobe University, RMIT and the Securities Institute of Australia in postgraduate, undergraduate and industry based programs.

Tim has extensive experience as a Senior Marketing Manager in Australia, Japan and the Philippines. He is currently completing his PhD in Marketing at the International School of Management in Paris and is Executive Director of Manage China, which has offices along the eastern seaboard of China. He currently resides in Hangzhou, China.

Robert Marshall

Robert Marshall is a Director of Knowledge Teams International Pty Ltd. He specialises in executive coaching and the development teams and leaders. He designed the Knowledge Team Effectiveness Profiling System which is used by organisations throughout the world to increase their teams' effectiveness and creativity.

Before establishing Knowledge Teams International, Robert was the Group Manager, Leadership and Team Development with CSIRO with responsibility for the design, delivery and evaluation of professional and personal development programs for CSIRO's senior staff throughout Australia.

Robert has many years experience in designing and delivering a range of leadership courses in higher education having worked on programs offered by Melbourne and Deakin Universities. He has published extensively in the areas of leading and fostering creativity and innovation in teams.

Paula Meegan

LL.B, GDLP

Paula is the Practice Manager of the Adelaide Magistrate’s Court Legal Advice Clinic, established jointly by the University of Adelaide and Flinders University to provide law students with the opportunity to obtain legal education and experience in a clinical educational setting. She has also undertaken sessional teaching at the Law Schools of Flinders University and the University of South Australia.

Previously, Paula practiced in commercial litigation in firms in Adelaide and Sydney. For three years she practiced in Darwin at the Northern Territory Attorney General's Department, mainly in the area of civil litigation. Here she undertook training and education of public servants in various government departments in relation to the statutory regimes which those departments were responsible for administering. From 1997 to 2000 she was an in-house legal advisor for Angel Trains, London, an asset finance lessor of rolling stock. More recently she has practiced in the area of Local Government law in Adelaide.

Tom Murphy

BEc. (Hons I) MSc. (Econ) Lancaster

Tom Murphy holds the degrees of Bachelor of Economics from the University of New England and Master of Science (Economics) from the University of Lancaster. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Western Research Institute (WRI). Tom previously held academic positions as senior lecturer in Economics and Director of the Regional Economics Research Unit in the Faculty of Commerce, Charles Sturt University, Bathurst and positions at the University of New England and Macquarie University.

He has also held the positions of Economic Analyst with the Office of National Assessments in Canberra, with responsibility for the ASEAN economies and Senior Consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick Management Consultants.

Professor Stuart Orr

PhD, MEng/Sci, B Eng (Hons), Fellow of Chifley Business School

Prior to his current position as Professor in the Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University, Stuart was the MBA Director at Deakin University, the Director of several graduate management degrees at Monash University and, before that, operated a management consulting firm. During this time, he worked with many of Australia's largest companies. He has also visited and held positions at a number of other leading universities within and outside Australia, including the universities of Cambridge and Munich.

Stuart's areas of teaching and research are strategic management, organisational behaviour and international management. He also regularly presents executive-level programs to industry. His research projects have been conducted in both the Australian and international contexts and he has published the results of his work widely in magazines, industry reports and refereed journal articles.

Dr Justin Pierce

Justin D. Pierce is an early career academic working as a part time lecturer at the School of Information Systems and at the Institute for Koorie Education at Deakin University. His research interests include computer security, human-computer interaction, supply chain management and knowledge management.

Justin has worked in the private sector predominantly in the development of electronic commerce systems. His teaching interests include project management, systems analysis and design, electronic commerce, and computer programming.

Brian Roberts

Brian facilitates the Economics of Development unit in the Planning Practice Course.

Brian Roberts recently retired as Director for the Centre for Developing Cities at the University of Canberra where he is an emeritus professor. He is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Certified Practising Planner (CPP). He holds a PhD in urban and regional economic development and other qualifications in urban design, planning, surveying and business management. He is an Honorary Ambassador for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Chair of the ACT's Sustainability Expert Reference Group.

Brian has held senior positions with the United Nations, Queensland State government, QUT and Canberra University and consulting mainly in Queensland, NSW and London. He has worked as a professional planner, project manager and technical adviser on a wide range of projects in more than 20 countries. He is an Advisor to AusAID, the Asian Development and World Banks and undertakes regular assignments for these organisations. Over the last 30 years he has been involved with the detailed planning, management and development of several very large and complex multi-discipline urban development projects.

Brian has published in fields of planning, land administration, economic development, industry clustering and industrial ecology.

While Brian has extensive academic qualifications and wide experience in planning, his training philosophy, gained from working with people in many countries, is that training should include a mix of theory relevant in applying new ideas, concepts and tools for the workplace, practical and an interesting and memorable experience for participants. This philosophy will be applied to the delivery of the course on the Economics of Development for Planners.

Dianne Robertson

Diane is the Director of Austral Business Communication Pty Ltd, a company specialising in writing and editing services (such as, reports, tenders, awards) and training in business writing. Diane is a highly qualified workshop and seminar leader, who has delivered courses and services over the last ten years to organisations and businesses, particularly in the government and engineering sectors. Prior to that, she was a university tutor in communication topics, early childhood teacher and secretary in the legal, insurance and stock broking sectors. Her interactive presentations engage and challenge people to think about the messages they create for readers so that their documents achieve their intended purposes.

Diane has specialised in communication in the workplace. Recent projects include mentoring bridge engineers in report writing, collaborating with team members to write an expression of interest for the Traveston Dam and writing submissions for an Engineers Excellence Award, Public Service Medal and Order of Australia.

Kathy Rozmeta

MBA, MEdu., BA, Cert.IV.AWT

Since 2003, Kathy has been the Director of her own consultancy (KRA) specialising in all aspects of people development.

Prior to that Kathy was the national and global manager for Learning and Development with Coca-Cola Amatil and before that, the ANZ Banking Group. In these roles, Kathy led all aspects of learning and development and in particular leadership and management development, at one stage across eighteen countries in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Before her fifteen years in private enterprise, Kathy worked in the public sector in Staff development, Education and Equal Opportunity. Her career has centered on education and organisational change with a strong leaning to leadership, management and organisational development. Her public sector experience spanned Universities, Statutory authorities and government departments.

Kathy has a Bachelor of Arts, a Masters Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. She won MBA Graduate of the year, awarded by the Australian Institute of Management Consultants following University nomination, for her contribution to the quality of Australian management. She has also won awards for her scripting and production of educational videos.

He has a very practical, no nonsense approach that is very 'user friendly'.

Wendy Sarkissian

Wendy facilitates the Professional Ethics unit in the Planning Practice Course.

Dr Wendy Sarkissian is passionate about our future: the future of work, of housing, of communities and of citizen participation. She is committed to finding spirited ways to nurture and support an engaged citizenry. Her successful career as consultant and academic in Australia and overseas has provided firsthand knowledge of many contexts, from developers' boardrooms to low-income housing estates. She holds a Masters of Arts in literature, a Master of Town Planning and a PhD in environmental ethics.

Building a career as a social planning consultant when there was no such discipline, she has pioneered innovative planning and development approaches in an astonishing variety of contexts. This work has earned her forty professional awards.

She has worked with senior managers and advisors to government departments and private enterprise, primarily in the urban, community, housing and development sectors.

Widely regarded as a leader in her profession and acclaimed as a humorous and thought-provoking speaker, Dr Sarkissian is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Member of the International Board of Global Urban Development.

She has served on Boards in South Australia and Queensland and is the award-winning author of several books on housing and community engagement. She lives in an intentional ecological community in northern New South Wales.

John Scotland

John has over 17 years of experience consulting with many Australian organizations in the mining, manufacturing, service, health and public sectors. He helps leaders and their people adopt great attitudes, develop and lead their teams, create business plans, manage change and enhance their overall impact on others through innovation and improved communication.

John has many years of on-the-ground experience having led and managed human services, health and consulting organisations, some of which consisted of over 300 staff. He is also a university lecturer specialising in Learning and Development.

Eric Stokes

Eric has taught engineering design and management and is currently a visiting lecturer at La Trobe University. He gained extensive experience in course design and the development of teaching and research facilities whilst on the staff of RMIT where he was a Head of Department.

Eric is a past Honorary Treasurer of the Victorian Division of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, a past Chairman of the Division, a former member of the Accreditation Board of the Institution and a Past President of the Victorian Council of Professions. In 1996 he received the IEAust Victorian Division Chairman's Award for outstanding service.

Bill Suen

Bill is a graduate of The Victorian College of Pharmacy before obtaining other post graduate qualifications in management by part-time, off-campus learning. He has a wide range of senior management experience in both the public and the private sectors. Key pharmacy management positions held include General Manager (Slade Pharmacy and Medical Group), Director of Pharmacy Service (Western Health Care Network), Pharmacy Manager (Terry White Chemist, The Glen). Outside pharmacy, Bill has had corporate management experience as the General Manager of PJA Computer Consultants Pty Ltd, a leading pathology and clinical software company in Australia.

Bill has established and taught in postgraduate pharmacy management and pharmaceutical sales programs at Monash University. He is currently a Victorian councillor of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, a practising community pharmacy proprietor and the principal consultant of Pharmaceutical Business Solutions Pty Ltd.

Craig Tapper

Craig's career includes more than 20 years experience at senior levels in the public sector and private industry in both Australia and the UK. Since 1991 Craig has been a part-time lecturer in postgraduate programs in Business Planning, Marketing and Management at Sydney University, the University of Technology, Sydney, the University of NSW and the Australian Graduate School of Management in Australia and Hong Kong.

As well as teaching, Craig works as a consultant to major companies and government departments helping them carry out governance and management reviews, marketing strategy development and planning, market and social research and policy development.

John Taya

John is the Executive Director Organisational Development at Main Roads, Western Australia—an organisation that has won numerous awards for best practice in Human Resource Management and Strategy. He was previously the Executive Director Human Resources and has worked in this capacity in both the Public and Private Sectors in Australia and London. John has been instrumental in bringing human resource management to the executive table in the Western Australian Public Sector and in recent years (with the skills shortages facing industry) has focussed on how strategic human resources can drive organisational strategic planning.

John has written and published papers on Human Resource Management and has also lectured in the MBA programs at the Graduate School of Management at the University of Western Australia, and at the Graduate School of Business at Curtin University. He is a member of the UWA Civil Engineering Industry Advisory Panel and the Curtin University School of Management Advisory Board.

Dr Milé Terziovski

Dr Milé Terziovski is an Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Melbourne. He is also the Executive Director of the Centre for Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CGIE), (incorporating the Euro-Australian Cooperation Centre) at the University of Melbourne. Dr Terziovski worked as a professional engineer for Rio Tinto over a period of 17 years in production, maintenance and project management prior to obtaining his PhD from the Melbourne Business School. He worked at Monash University for a period of four years prior to returning to the University of Melbourne in 2000.

Dr Terziovski teaches innovation and entrepreneurship at postgraduate and undergraduate levels. He has published more than 50 articles in prestigious international refereed journals such as the Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Business Research and the European Journal of Operations Research (EJOR). Dr Terziovski chaired the Innovation and Entrepreneurship track at the European Academy of Management Conference (EURAM 2006). His latest book Building Innovation Capability in Organisations: An International Cross-case Perspective was published by the Imperial College Press in London in 2007.

I challenge my students to address the people, assets and costs issues through a variety of learning mechanisms in an integrative fashion.

Professor Greg Walker

Greg is currently Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Business at Charles Sturt University. He recently retired from his formal positions as Head of Campus, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business and Head of School of Marketing and Management following an extensive teaching and management career at CSU.

He has published in both journals and textbooks and has also worked as an economic consultant in both the public and private sectors. His research interests include banking and finance, macroeconomic policy, business and competition policy and regional economic development.

Dr Richard White

Richard is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Richard has worked in many industries: iron and steel, coal, pharmaceuticals, water and wool. He has worked on water supply and wastewater treatment projects in the UK, and as the Technical Manager in a leading wool scouring and carbonising company in Melbourne.

His teaching areas include environmental engineering, pollution control and engineering management systems (including audits and QMS/EMS). His additional research interests include reactor design and operation.

Ingrid Van der Woude

Ingrid has over 20 years experience in roles ranging from owner and operator of a small business to senior human resources professional and training facilitator. Her experience has been developed in a variety of industries, including construction, railways, government, energy and human resource consulting.

Ingrid was an award winning student at university and graduated in the top 10% of students across Australia. In the years since graduating, Ingrid focused on the human resources profession developing her expertise in organisational development, particularly leadership development, organisational behaviour, learning frameworks, learning program design and performance management strategies.

Her key strengths evolve from her understanding of human behaviour and leadership, the development of emotional intelligence, the interaction of people in the workplace and her demonstration and knowledge of effective communication skills.

She enjoys coaching leaders to support their growth and ability to manage complex people issues in the face of rapid change and challenges within organisations. Her practical business experience and commerce degree provide a thorough foundation to support learning opportunities for corporate employees and leaders in interpersonal and communication skills, leadership, behavioural change, team building, human resources and basic business skills. She may also assist organisations with learning needs assessment, learning strategies and program design.

Craig Wilkins has over 20 years experience in the Information Technology and Telecommunications industry, of which the last 15 years have been in the application of Program and Project Management. Craig has been delivering PMI focused training courses to large global corporate organisations for the past 8 years. In 1999, Craig founded and currently manages his company, based in Australia, providing Program and Project Management consulting and training services to local and multi-national clients.

Craig has vast experience in managing all levels of stakeholder communications, from CIO to technical level. Craig has worked in Africa, the UK, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia, New Zealand and various countries in S.E. Asia.
